"In the whole history of the world there is but one thing that
money cannot buy - to whit, the wag of a dog's tail."
Henry Wheeler Shaw (1818-1885)

Brief History of Breaksea Beardies

Alan and I were married in June 1977, we then moved from our homes in Barry
 S. Wales to Lowestoft, where Alan was studying and doing research for a PhD.
We decided we wanted a dog and as Alan had fallen in love with a Beardie
belonging to a lecturer at University we
went to see some and I fell in love too. The rest as they say is History.

Our First Beardie Dolly, (Bevlands Hello Dolly)
Ch. Penhallows Pink Panther x Broadholme Buckaneer
joined us in January 1978. Pink Panther had been
BOB at Crufts that year, Dolly was pick of litter, her
breeder insisted if we had her that we would show her
this got us started.

Eleven months later we were joined by Dolly's sister Rosie
(picture below) who came to us as a rescue.

By the following year Alan was itching for a dog to show
of his own, rather than just watching me.
In May 1979 we added our first male Scapafield Lundy Storm
to our household. The following September we moved to
Anglesey and Alan took a Post Doc. post at the University in
Bangor.

Here is Stormy pictured below, photo taken at his last Crufts
appearance age 13 years.
